Chicken manure is a raw material frequently processed by organic fertilizer equipment. When processing chicken manure into organic fertilizer, a series of fermentation processes are required. During this process, we recommend adding biological agents, which have many benefits for processing organic fertilizer. Today, we will explain the advantages of adding biological agents when fermenting chicken manure in organic fertilizer equipment:
1. Quickly initiate fermentation. Generally, in summer, the composting time for chicken manure treated with microbial fermentation agents to reach the harmless index is about 20 days, while natural fermentation often takes about 60 days to reach this index. Mainly due to the growth and reproduction of microorganisms, substances in the material are fermented and degraded, shortening the time for compost to reach the high temperature stage and prolonging the high temperature period. In winter, especially in the north, due to the low temperature, it is difficult to start fermentation. Therefore, adding fermentation agents and microorganisms to chicken manure can quickly initiate fermentation.
2. Remove odor. Adding microbial agents to chicken manure can effectively eliminate foul odors. This is mainly because microorganisms can decompose organic substances such as phenol, carboxylic acids, formaldehyde, etc. that do not contain nitrogen or sulfur into CO2 and H2O; Ammoniation of nitrogen-containing organic compounds into NH3, which can be oxidized by nitrifying bacteria to NO2- and further oxidized by nitrifying bacteria to N03-; Sulfur containing odorous substances are decomposed by microorganisms to release H2S, which is then oxidized by sulfur oxidizing bacteria into sulfuric acid and other pollutants, allowing for their removal.
3. Changes in enzyme activity. All biochemical processes in the fermentation process of chicken manure are carried out with the participation of enzymes, and the enzyme activity reflects the strength of various biochemical processes in organic material stacking. Chicken manure compost inoculated with microbial agents contains a large number of microorganisms that produce enzymes such as cellulase, protease, lipase, and catalase. Therefore, its various enzyme activities are significantly higher than those of natural composting.
4. Eliminate pathogenic microorganisms. In the process of treating chicken manure with microbial agents, the temperature can reach 65 ℃~70 ℃ or even higher. High temperatures not only cause rapid decomposition of chicken manure and other materials, but more importantly, can effectively kill pathogenic microorganisms or viruses. The heap temperature of 50 ℃~70 ℃, lasting for 6-7 days, is harmful to insect eggs and pathogenic bacteria. It can achieve a very good lethal effect, such as avian influenza virus, which can die in a few minutes at high temperatures of 60 ℃~70 ℃.
5. Improve the safety of crops. Uric acid and NH4+- N are the main substances in chicken manure that affect the normal growth of crops. Microbial agents can promote the conversion of nitrogen substances in compost into protein nitrogen and NH3+- N, reduce the accumulation of NH4+- N, and quickly eliminate or reduce substances that cause crop growth disorders.
6. Can be made into coarse feed for other animals. Crude protein accounts for 31% to 33% of the dry matter in chicken manure, of which more than half is non protein nitrogen such as uric acid, urea, creatine, ammonia, as well as the crude fiber contained in chicken manure itself and a large amount of crude fiber in bedding. So chicken manure is a good feed for livestock, poultry, and fish farming, but raw chicken manure contains parasite eggs and some toxic substances and bacteria, which cannot be directly fed with raw chicken manure. Microbial agents must be added to chicken manure for high-temperature fermentation treatment to become non-toxic and nutritious feed.
7. Increase fertilizer efficiency. Microorganisms can decompose easily decomposable substances such as starch, lipid compounds, hemicellulose, and protein in chicken manure, as well as some cellulose and a small amount of lignin, some of which are converted into water-soluble carbon and nitrogen compounds. At the same time, some of the carbon and nitrogen sources initially utilized by microorganisms are gradually decomposed and released with the death of microorganisms. Therefore, the content of water-soluble carbon and nitrogen in feces can be increased. Compared with natural fermentation of chicken manure, the various enzymes produced by microbial agents can catalyze the rapid conversion of organic matter into humic state. Compost inoculated with microbial agents can synthesize more humic carbon and nitrogen in the same time. On the other hand, microbial agents can produce some acidic substances, lower the pH value of chicken manure, reduce the volatilization of ammonia during the fermentation process of chicken manure, maintain more nitrogen, improve fertilizer efficiency, and protect the environment.
